Joe's first original release of 2014!!

There is quite a story behind this song. During my Valentine's Day LOVE-O-GRAM push I was contacted by my friend Adam Lautt . He asked if it would be possible to hire me to write a song for his wife Mel Blautt for their 7 year wedding anniversary in April. He thought it would a truly one of a kind gift!! I jumped at the opportunity. So we began trading emails and he gave me the run down of how they met, fell in love, married and had a kid! I read the story a few times and got a good vibe on what their relationship was all about. Now mind you I have only ever written for myself and for my projects so this was something completely new to me. It was a BIG challenge and I would be lying if I didn't say I was extremely nervous at how the song would turn out. Would I be able to write a GOOD ENOUGH song? Would it portray the emotion he was looking for? And most importantly would SHE like it?!?! All of those thoughts also crept into my head as I began to write the music and the lyrics and it made me second guess EVERYTHING I wrote!! But at one point I said to myself, "DUDE, don't over think this!! Just do what you do and write from the heart!!". Once I put that in my mind the song just flowed out. I then went to More Sound Recording Studio with Andrew Gracen and recorded the song. It's a simple arrangement with no bells and whistles AND it also features Amanda Rogers on back up vocals! SO the big day arrived in April and Adam was taking Mel out to dinner. They got into the car and he played her the song! SHE LOVED IT!! They both called me in the middle of my gig and left an ecstatic voicemail saying, SHE LOVED IT!! I then breathed a sigh of RELIEF!! Melanie then immediately wanted to share it with the world but we all talked and figured we would wait and do it up RIGHT!! I got my good friend and kick ass artist Billy White to once again design a masterpiece!! So on July 1st the rest of the world will hear this touching love song that myself AND Adam wrote together!! It was my first SONG FOR HIRE gig and hopefully it won't be my last!!
